Supporting the Environment

Capital West participates in the fight to reduce the environmental risks which global warming presents. The primary means though which we participate is through the voluntary purchase of ‘carbon offsets’ (specifically through tree planting projects in Australia).

Travel, computer use, printing, and electricity usage all contribute to the overall levels of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. By purchasing carbon offsets, the detrimental effects of these business activities can to some extend be countered, if not neutralised.

We recognise the fact that buying carbon offsets is not the perfect solution to global warming, nor do we believe that this is our sole responsibility in terms of the environment. We are however, playing our part in operating responsibly and ethically, and encourage every business to also take steps to neutralise their carbon emissions.
